Nola Hedstrom-Beblow, M.Ed., R.C.C.
Registered Clinical Counsellor (#12568)
Nola graduated with Social Work and Psychology degrees from the University of Victoria. After supporting children with special needs and their families for a number of years, Nola obtained her Master’s degree in Applied School and Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. Currently, Nola is a School Psychologist (BC College of Psychologists #3067-currently non practicing) within the Central Okanagan. In the area of counselling, Nola specializes in interventions that integrate an individual’s current strengths, along with their learning and developmental needs. When supporting children and youth, Nola provides individualized support, as well as providing education and support to the broader family system. She is currently a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. Nola is passionate in the pursuit of wellness through concrete skill development, processing, and connection. When not working, Nola enjoys spending time with her partner and two teenage daughters.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Nola provides screening, targeted interventions, and support for the adult, or the child and parent team. With children, the therapeutic process begins with parent-child sessions. These sessions provide the opportunity to increase connection, identify areas of challenge, engage in collaborative problem solving, and develop concrete skills. All interventions are based on the most current research within the field of ADHD

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Nola provides targeted interventions to support to adults as well as child and parent teams. Nola begins the therapeutic process by clarifying goals and counselling needs. Assessment of an individual’s interoceptive abilities (reading the sense of the internal state of the body), social communication, and day-to-day functioning needs are determined. Collaborative parent-child, or individual sessions are offered.

Anxiety and Depression
Nola works to identify the type and reason for the presenting symptoms. Interventions include developing a better understanding of the symptoms and effects of anxiety/depression has on one’s thinking, feeling, and behaviour. Collaborative parent-child, or individual sessions are offered.

ADHD Coach
With connection being the foundation of L-J’s practise, humor, patience and resourcefulness is brought to each session. Her focus is on strengths and providing a non-judgmental space for learning and growth. She embraces the spice of neurodiversity and celebrates the unique gifts of ADHD! As a qualified ADHD coach and a mom in a wonderfully neurodiverse (“neuro-spicy”) family, she brings personal experience and professional expertise to help you navigate the unique challenges—and celebrate the joys—of life with executive functioning differences.
L-J’s coach training was completed through the ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA), the global leader in ADHD coach training. Prior to my education with ADDCA, I also completed a bachelor’s degree in business with an accounting specialty at Okanagan College.
